Who are we?
Carter & Co is a vibrant and dynamic restaurant and bar housed in a beautiful grade two listed building in the heart of Southsea.
Serving modern British inspired dishes with a twist, this is an amazing opportunity for an experienced, creative and passionate Head Chef to join our team and continue to shape the future of the business.
The successful candidate will be a born leader who relishes the challenge of running the kitchen, and knows when and how to delegate with an unstoppable talent for creating new dishes and food concepts as your menus will set the tone for our restaurant.
Key Skills
– Have 5 years chef experience with at least 1 year as a Head Chef in a premium, high volume restaurant.
– Be a strong and positive leader who can manage and mentor a kitchen team of 3 chefs and 4 KPs.
– Have creative flair.
– Control all costs, including GP/ staffing levels and stock.
– Maintaining all Health and Safety and Food Hygiene standards.
– A team player, resilient and strong who communicates well, listens to others ideas and open to change
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
– Recruit, manage and mentor your kitchen brigade.
– Full responsibility for menu creation. – Stock control and managing food and labour costs. – To keep the kitchen EHO ready at all times, making sure all relevant paperwork is in order and up to date
As Head chef, you are as close to a superhero as it gets in the kitchen, everyone in the kitchen brigade will look up to you for support and inspiration – including the front of house teams too. You will be able to develop and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers, fellow employees/ employers and of course our loyal customers
